What a great day had by all at the Masters Games. Well done and congratulations to everyone who competed and a huge thankyou to all the volunteers, especially our caterers the Noble family and Val Cadell our PA person and more. Thank you also to everyone who came along and showed their support!

Outcome of special general meeting held 25th September 2011

To everyone who has been or is a member or followed us on FB, today was a very sad day indeed. We held our special meeting with only our committee and 2 others attending and support from a few others by email who were unable to be there. We were left with no one wanting the position of President at this time and had no choice but to place our club into recess for the next 12 months.

We will hold an AGM on 22nd July 2012 to see if we can elect a full committee and continue on our journey to teach the Western Style of riding. We will still keep this website open to keep you all informed so please don’t give up on us just yet, instead be ready to show your support when we need it next.

Special General Meeting – 25th September 2011

Please be advised that we are cancelling our Club Training Day to be held this Sunday 25th September as we be holding a Special General Meeting at 10.30am at Equestrian Park Aldinga to discuss the future of our club.

As you may or may not be aware our President – Tracey Ahrns has resigned from her position effective immediately and along with other committee changes we are now without leadership, and support in certain areas.

We have called a Special General Meeting to enable us to try to find a solution to this problem, we need a President. If we are unable to fill this position it is likely that the club will be put into recess with an Annual General Meeting to be held in July 2012 to try again to form a new committee.

Please come along to show your support for this wonderful club.

Club Training Day – 28th August 2011

We will be practicing Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Pleasure and Trail in preparation for the Masters Games. These classes are suitable for beginners right through to the more experienced.

We will be running the Western Events at the Australian Masters Games to be held at Aldinga on Wednesday Oct 12th 2011. Age groups 30-44, 45-59 and 60+. Registrations are open now so please go to www.australianmastersgames.com and follow links.

Gates open at 9am, starts at 10am. BBQ lunch and full canteen available.

Please feel free to come and join us for a relaxed no pressure day of enjoying some of the Western Disciplines.

Annual General Meeting – 24th July 2011

Please note that our AGM will be held at the Equestrian Park on July 24th 2011, starting at 11am followed by a BBQ lunch and hopefully we will be able to organise a guest speaker.

Please come along and support our club and have a think about joining our committee, it is a great way to be involved and learn a lot along the way, not to mention all the fun we have too!

We will be holding an informal club training day. We will cover basics with a focus on transitions and head carriage, picking up leads or if you have a young horse we will work on the ground. If anyone has a specific problem we will be more than happy to address and work towards solving the issue.

These classes are suitable for beginners right through to the more experienced and with any breed of horse. If you are interested in giving Western Riding a try then please come along and have some fun with us.

Gates open at 9am and riding starts from 10am. Cost is $15 members or $25 non members, $5 youth rider under 18yrs and spectators are free. Full canteen facilities are available with BBQ for lunch.

All riders MUST wear protective helmets to Australian Standards.

We will be holding an informal club training day. As a bonus this month (different instructor) we will be running a bit of a special day focused on Kids and their Ponies, so please come along and have some fun, we will hopefully have some games too!

If you have a child and a pony then please bring them along for some tuition and fun, learners are very welcome, we may also require parents to help with leading.

Young horses are also welcome to come along as there is a lot of training that we can do on the ground with them, lots of fun too!

Organised Trail Ride – 10th April 2011

Join us for a guided trail ride through a lovely quiet part of Kuitpo forest. We will amble through some beautiful countryside and this ride caters for beginners through to experienced riders.

Float parking is available by the picnic parking area, approximately 2.5kms in on Razorback Road, off Battunga Road to the left coming from Meadows direction.

$5 per rider/horse donation to the Club. Due to the requirement of forest permits, please organise to get one if you haven’t already prior to the day. Ride time is approximately 2hrs with a 10am start.

This ride is weather permitting so please contact Sue 0413 137 833 the day before to confirm that we are proceeding as planned in case bad weather is forecast or there is a total fire ban.
